Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a fungus that predominantly grows on birch trees in cold northern forests. It is high in antioxidants and anti-inflammatories, and has been used for its detoxifying and healing properties for centuries. Chaga is an adaptogen, helping to normalize and balance body functions. It is known for its immune-boosting and anti-tumor effects, and has been used to treat skin conditions and respiratory disorders, to help control metabolic disorders, to fight ulcers and gastritis, stimulate digestion and reduce blood sugar.
Some of the medicinal compounds of chaga mushrooms need to be extracted using alcohol, and some need to be extracted using water. Both alcohol and water extractions were used to make this tincture, making it a double extraction tincture that contains both the alcohol-soluble and water-soluble medicinal properties of chaga mushrooms. It was made with spring water and grain alcohol and contains approximately 25% alcohol.
The chaga used to make this tincture was wild harvested by me here in northern Vermont.
Available in 1 oz, 2 oz and 4 oz dropper bottles.
